Ella Mae Williams, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the age of 90. Born in Williamson County on May 17, 1924, she was the seventh of nine children born to Elnora and Carl Wesley Youngbloom. She was a life-long resident of Austin, Texas. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Virginia Denbow and her husband Randy, and Barbara Williams. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren Ryan Denbow and wife, Sandrine; Ashley Denbow and fiancée Jeremy Dowdy, and Kelsey Denbow; as well as her two great-granddaughters Devan and Dorian Denbow. She is also survived by her sisters Gladys Blakeslee and Vera (Bill) Steedley and her brother Dan Youngbloom; as well as numerous family members and friends. She was preceded in death in 2007 by her husband of 57 years, Cecil Floy Williams, Jr.
Together she and Floy began Williams Auto Supply, he the salesman and she the bookkeeper. They operated the business for 50 years until his death in 2007. Her passion and devotion in life was her family. Nothing brought more joy to her than spending time with her daughters and her grandchildren, either at her home or at her and Floy’s lake house. ‘MiMi’ never missed a chance to attend a sporting event of one of the grandkids, cheering their victories or comforting them in defeat. For over 38 years she and Floy danced with the Bandera and Promenaders Square Dancing Clubs, where they developed deep and lasting friendships. She had enjoyed years of travel with family and friends, gardening, and dancing until life slowed down for her and her new favorite activity was following her San Antonio Spurs. It broke our hearts to lose her, but her love will live within us and guide us forever.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at noon, followed by the memorial service at 1:00pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. The family will be hosting a reception at their home after the interment at Austin Memorial Park.
