Elizabeth Hill Mayo

She was born October 24, 1926, in Bastrop, Texas, to Ruth Guthrie Hill and William Augustus Hill. She attended Elgin Elementary School and Austin High School.

Elizabeth lived and cared for her mother for much of her adult life. The family lived in Austin and Houston, where Elizabeth worked for Southwestern Bell and Austin Regional Clinic.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Taylor Bailey, Wallace Bailey, Jack Bailey, William Hill and Thomas Hill, and her grandson Robert Pruitt.

She is survived by her daughter, Ronda Ward: her grandchildren, Ryan and Mason Meek, and Alicia and Robert Lee Pruitt: and her brother, George Hill. Other survivors include 15 nieces and nephews and their families, as well as two sisters-in-law and several cousins and their families.

A private funeral will be held as held Monday, July 2 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Austin. Her final resting place will be at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin.

Elizabeth was devoted to her faith and large, extended family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
