Elizabeth Britton Allison passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 after a brief but courageous battle with aggressive cervical cancer. Born September 11, 1976, Elizabeth is survived by her husband, William Allison, Jr, her 20 month old daughter, Brooklyn, both of Midland, Texas and step daughters Renae and Raylene Allison of Long Beach, California. She is also survived by her parents, Susan and Ronald Britton of Midland, Texas; her brother, Andrew Britton of Denver, Colorado; and her sister, Carolyn Britton Allen of Austin, Texas; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and other family. We all loved Elizabeth's independent spirit, dry wit, and the incredible love for her daughter and husband.
Baptized Elizabeth Ann Britton, she grew up in Midland, Texas, attending Midland High School and the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida, then college at the University of Arkansas, where she pledged and was initiated into Pi Beta Phi Sorority, a tradition held by all the other women in the last 3 generations of her family. She lived much of her adult life in Southern California until the three of them recently moved to Midland following the birth of her daughter. She was an incredible mother in many ways. One of the most recent was watching her brag about her daughter to her doctor, medical team, and hospital staff at MD Anderson in Houston, where she was receiving treatment and in the hospital during her illness. It has been such a blessing to all of us to hear how much her doctor and everyone on her medical team at MD Anderson loved Elizabeth; her fight, determination and humor.
There will be a viewing and the family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 6-8pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas, 78705. All are invited to a funeral service and celebration of Elizabeth's life at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 3201 Windsor Road, Austin, Texas 78703 at 10am on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 with a reception to follow.
Pallbearers for the service are Andrew Britton, Christopher Allen, Robert Allen, David Allen, Ty Allen, Dr. Bloyce Britton, Hector Betancourt and Nathan Lizarraga.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any memorial contributions to be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in memory of Elizabeth.
