Eileen Crain Sullivan, age 100, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013. She was born on June 12, 1913 in Victoria, Texas to Margaret James McFaddin Crain and William Henry Crain. She attended Miss Simple's School in New York City and graduated from The University of Texas. She was active on the campus, President of Kappa Kappa Gamma and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
After marrying Joe Sullivan in 1934, she moved to Centerville, Texas where she was an active member of the family's ranching and banking business. She moved to Austin in 1983 and was living at The Summit at the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her son, Dunklin, three sisters, one brother and several nieces and nephews.
A parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, she was known for her generosity, enthusiasm for life and unending faith.
She was a member of the Kappa alumnae, Seton Development Board, University of Texas Chancellor's council, Littlefield Society and a life member of the Ex-Student's Association.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Anne Sullivan Winn and husband Jerry; two granddaughters, Kelly Heironimus and husband Jason; Katy Taylor and husband Eric; four great-grandchildren, Joe and Ty Heironimus and Maggie and Betsy Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Vangie Silvus and Martha Ann Jenkins for their loyalty and excellent care of Eileen.
