Edwin Lamar Cason was born September 18, 1937 in Houston, and passed away Saturday, April 24, 2004, in Austin, Texas. Lamar graduated from Schertz-Cebolo H.S., and attended Texas A & I College in Kingsville, Valdosta State College in Georgia, and the University of Texas in Austin. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1977, and retired after 20 years of service. He was employed with the Texas Department of Human Resources from 1977 to 1997, and retired after 20 years. In 1970, he married Waldine Kraemer Cason. His father, Robert Cason and brother, Douglas Cason preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Waldine Cason; mother, Ruby Cason; brother, Robert Cason; children, Edwin Cason and wife Linda, Trina Cason and Robert Cason; grandchildren, Joy Graham, Lee Ann Cason, Edwin L. Cason, III and Bob Cason; great-grandchildren, Alex and Emily Graham; nieces, Rebecca Bohn, Vanessa Marshall and Vincentia Roberts; brother and sister-in-law, Kirby and Velorie Dippel; and special friends, Rick Rector and Cyndi Koble. Visitation will be from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, Pastor Samuel Zumwalt officiating. Interment will follow at Richters Cemetery, Round Top, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Martins Lutheran Church, the Parkinsons Society, or charity of your choice.
