Edward "Eddie" Arechiga

It saddens us deeply to announce the unexpected death of Eddie (54) on Thursday, April 11, 2013. He passed away peacefully with family at his side. He was a life long resident of Austin. He was preceded in death by the mother of his sons, Patricia Garcia; grandparents, Antonio and Luz Yanez and Frank and Lula Arechiga.

Eddie is survived by sons, Mark (Brenda) Garcia, Jeff Garcia; his mother, Dolores Garcia; father, Steve Arechiga; brothers Anthony, Mike, and Ronnie Garcia; grandchildren, Mark, Ava, Marissa. He is survived by a host of relatives and friends who will remember and cherish his life.

Eddie was a gentle man with a kind heart who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren whom he adored. He enjoyed all sports and took great pride in watching his grandson play baseball. He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, clever wit, and ability to make others laugh. Eddie will be missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be his cousins, Richard Rodriguez, Jesse Duran Jr., Albert Riojas, Joe Robert Riojas Sr., George Arechiga, and Tony Arechiga.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Reverend Mike Couhig, C.S.C. officiating. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas
