Edith Ann Swartz

Edith Ann Stewart Swartz died peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Schulenburg, Texas at the age of 77.

Edith is preceded in death by her father Clarence Truett “CT” Stewart, Jr., her mother Katherine Wilson Stewart, two aunts, Mary Beth Stewart Barringer and Edith Faye Stewart Edwards, and five uncles, WT Stewart, Dalton Stewart, Royce Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, and Carroll Stewart. She is survived by her uncle Alton Stewart and aunt Shirley Stewart, uncle Barkley Edwards, and aunts Shirley L. Stewart, Velma Stewart, and Carolyn Stewart. Edith is also survived by twenty-two younger cousins, the grandchildren of Clarence Truett Stewart and Stella L. Yount Stewart.

Edith was born on January 15, 1948, in Austin, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School and then attended Mary Hardin-Baylor College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1972. Edith was a Registered Nurse and worked as a floor nurse at a local hospital and as a Home Health Nurse until her health caused her to retire. She enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, hot air balloon rides, and reading. She was a dedicated Christian and an active member of her church throughout her life.

A graveside funeral service is scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive in Austin, Texas, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Edith’s life.
