Edith F Sunday of Austin, Texas, was born July 14, 1917 in Grapevine, Texas and passed away at the Isle at Cedar Ridge on November 1, 2012. She is survived by her daughters Sandra McCutcheon and JoAnne Oliver, granddaughter Marti Granger and her husband Will, three great-grandchildren Joshua Oliver-Adams, Jacob Granger and Georgia Granger and great-great-grandson, Zachary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Sunday. The family was blessed to have her in their lives and will miss her greatly.
Edith grew up in Estelline, Texas and moved to Austin when she was 17 years old where she met her husband Robert Sunday. She retired from the Department of Public Safety Criminal Records Division in 1977 and worked as a volunteer at Seton Northwest for a number of years. Edith never met a stranger and her zest for life was contagious and she remained an eternal optimist until the time of her death.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Isle at Cedar Ridge for their outstanding love and care of Edith and also to the Odyssey Hospice team for their love and support.
Pallbearers are Will Granger, Joshua Oliver-Adams, Jacob Granger, Richard Bratton and Eddie Arispe.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Sunday, November 4, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with funeral services on Monday, November 5 at 3:00 PM at Covenant Methodist Church with Pastor Rosie Gratton officiating.
