Edith Christine Munson Ritter Edith Christine Munson Ritter, 92, passed away in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, June 15, 2005 at Westminster Manor Health Care Center. Edith was born on October 21, 1912 in Durant, OK, the seventh child of George William and Lydia Houston Munson, a descendant of Sam Houston. She attended Southeastern State Teachers College in Durant, OK where she received her Bachelors of Arts Degree. Edith married Armin H. Ritter of Austin on May 7, 1933. Armin preceded her in death in 1985 after 52 years of marriage. Edith and Armin were devoted to their family and spent many wonderful years boating and skiing on Lake Austin, finally building their retirement home on Scenic Drive when it was still a dirt road. Edith enjoyed hunting with her husband, gardening and watching her two children, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as they grew. She was a very special Granny to her grandchildren and G.G. to her great-grandchildren. Edith was a member of St. Martins Evangelical Lutheran Church. Edith is survived by her daughter Nancy and husband Thomas E. Rodman of Austin and Odessa, son Robert H. Ritter and wife Marcella of Findlay, OH; four grandsons Robert Earl Rodman, wife Lisa, and children Alison and Robert Armin Bo Rodman, Thomas E. Rodman, Jr., wife Cecily and children James and Emma, James Armin Rodman and children Catherine, Christopher and Matthew, all of Austin, Dr. Robert Houston Ritter and wife Nicole of Temple and one granddaughter Christina Ritter Schieffer and husband Jack of Columbus, OH, and several nieces and nephews including Jense Pearson of Austin. The family wishes to thank the staff of Westminster for all their loving care and support during Ediths time there. The family would also like to thank Pastor Glen Sandquist for his many visits to Edith while at Westminster.
