Edgar C. Littlefield, Jr. passed away on December 4, 2014. He was born in Lanett, Alabama on January 18th, 1931; he was the first born son of Edgar C. Littlefield, Sr. and Jessie Freeman Littlefield. After graduation from Lanett High School, he built and raced stock cars for three years prior to joining the United States Air Force. Ed honorably served his country for 27 years before retiring in 1977. His tours of duty included assignments in Korea, Viet Nam, the Philippines, Goose Bay Labrador, Amarillo, Texas, Eglin, Florida, Topeka, Kansas, and Austin, Texas. Ed then embarked upon a second career with Bergstrom Federal Credit Union (now United Heritage Credit Union), where he was employed for the next 18 years. Ed was happily married for 59 years to the love of his life, Rita Edwards Galbraith. Ed and Rita spent much of their leisure time on the golf course with many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Jessie Littlefield; and his step-daughter, Jacque Galbraith Buffaloe.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Rita; brother, John L. Littlefield; step-son, Mike Galbraith and wife, Judy; two adoring grandchildren, Tiffany Galbraith Floyd and husband, Brent, and Joe D. Galbraith and wife, Michelle; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 7th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on South Congress Avenue. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, December 8, 2014 Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Hill Park in Pflugerville, Texas.
Memorials in his honor can be made to the Texas Renal Coalition or Berkley United Methodist Church.
