Dusty Rhodes

Glen "Dusty" Leslie Rhodes a native Austinite, age 66, lost his hard fought battle with cancer Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was a small business owner and spent the last 15 years as a contractor in the Lakeway area. Many of his accomplishments can be seen in Lakeway today and will remain to be seen as a reminder of his work. He was so proud of the great relationships he had within the community of Lakeway.

Dusty was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He found joy in introducing others to these pursuits as well. Most of all he loved his family and helping others.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph "Dusty" Rhodes and his mother, Margaret Hannah Rhodes. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters Sandy Rhodes and Margaret Rhodes. Dusty is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen Rhodes, their son Klint Rhodes, daughter-in-law Niki Rhodes and his beloved grandson Brady also known as "Grandpa's Boy". He also greatly loved his extended family, “grandchildren" Jackson and Emma Clary, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home located at 9700 Anderson Mill Rd. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 11, 2013 at The Lakeway Church at 2203 Lakeway Boulevard. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dusty never met a stranger always making a new friend everywhere he went and his infectious personality will be greatly missed by all those that knew him.
