Dorothy Perez

Dorothy was proceeded in death by her father Ralph Arevalo Sr., her husband Amado Perez Jr., Son Ricky Arevalo Perez.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Arevalo, granddaughter, Jennifer Perez (Kijana), daughter- in- law Tammy Perez, Daughter Roxanne De La Cruz (Carlos), granddaughter, Reanna De La Cruz and grandson, Carlos De La Cruz Jr., great-grandson Kaleb Jai. Dorothy is also survived by her brothers: Edward Arevalo Sr., Ralph Arevalo Jr., and sister, Lucille Montoya Arevalo and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a lifetime resident of Austin and was employed by Austin Neuropsychiatric Clinic for 45 years and took a leave of absence in March 2016 due to the return of breast cancer.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 5:00-7:00pm, on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm that evening.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on December 14, 2016 at St. Julia Catholic Church, 3010 Lyons Road, Austin, Texas 78702. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas.

We understand when the foot prints in the sand stopped is when the lord carried you home, heaven has truly gained a heart of gold, your infectious smile and laugh will be greatly missed. But peace is found in knowing your no longer in pain and will be welcomed home by many family and friends in the kingdom of heaven. Until that sweet day we meet again, you are always in our hearts.
