Dear Tom, Pat, and Carolyn,    It was with great sadness I learned of your Mother's passing. I will truly miss her but I am happy for her to be free of her burden of suffering. She is now at peace with our Lord Jesus Christ and is among the loved ones who have gone before her. I pray for each of you that you will find healing for your broken hearts and live with the happy memories you have of your beloved Mother. God Bless.



Dear Tom, Pat, & Carolyn,    Just want you to know over 81 years ago the four of us were living in a four room duplex and Harold and I woke up June 12, 1926 with no Mama or Daddy. We were 6 and 8 years old. So we decided to go downstairs to the neighbors to inquire about our parents and about that time Pop came up the stairs. He told us we had a little sister. We were very happy to see our Daddy and to learn about your Mother.     When we were living at the farm your Mother, about 12 years old, invited some of her school classmates to spend the day. Your Mother had an archery set. They had a big time trying to hit the target that was stuffed with farm hay. And guess what? Your Mother hit the bullseye!     When I was at A&M and your Mother at Baylor she would get dates for me and my buddies.                                      I loved your Mother very much and will miss her. I want to thank you for being my niece and nephews.



Dorothy was a beloved friend of my mother Jeannette.  She has always been a special part of my life and I am deeply grieved for her loss though I rejoice in her release from suffering.  She brought so much to my mother and thus to me - art, creativity and beauty. I treasure her myriad gifts and her memory. I am very grateful that our last time together  was a trip to the Andy Goldsworthy exhibit in Austin, it was a wonderful thing to share with her.    Go From Love,With Love,Into Love.

Dear Tom, Pat, and Carolyn,  Iâm very sorry to hear about your loss â your mother was a special person who will be missed by many.  Seeing her photograph on the obituary brought back to mind her infectious laugh, very like Popâs, and her great sense of humor.  One thing that stands out in my memories of Aunt Dorothy was how much she cherished all of you and how proud she was of you.  I also remember her love of art and music. She was an accomplished pianist in her youth; I know this because she gave me her piano sheet music years ago, and much of it looked beyond my capabilities, though I had played for nine years.  One of my prized possessions is a music box statue of Beethoven that plays Fur Elise, which she gave me when I was about 12 years old.  This little statue has followed me from Texas to Wisconsin and always has a prominent place on my piano.  Another special memory is of her taking Carolyn and me to an exhibit of Spanish paintings at SMU. I believe she had seen the exhibit already but wanted to share the experience with us as well.  I regret that I live far away and am unable to attend the funeral tomorrow. Please accept my condolences and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.



Tom, Pat, and Carolyn,    I am sorry for the loss of your mother.  I know that, as a believer in Christ Jesus, she is no longer suffering.  Nevertheless, it is still a tough thing to lose your mother. You have my heart-felt condolences.   I will always remember your motherâs laughter . . . what a great laugh!



Dear Tom, Pat and Carolyn:  As David and our mother have already expressed, your dear mother will be missed by all. I will always cherish the memories of the many outings she planned that gave us a better appreciation for the arts, even if we didn't think so at the time. I drove by the house on Kiest last year, but didn't cruise through the alley or walk under the bridges at the creek like we used to do. I always think of you when it might be ice or snow around New Years and wonder how many kids are out writing in the frost like we did. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.



Many memories are etched into my mind for Dorothy from 1944 until recently.  We shared many experiences as sisters-in-law.  Even recently we shared our enjoyment for special mystery books and Masterpiece Theatre dramas portrayed over PBS.   I will always regret that she experienced great sorrow which affected her previously fun loving, upbeat life. However, she retained her strong faith in God and His Son, which sustained her through her health problems and other disappointments.   Her deep love for her children and grandchildren were evident each time we talked or in her letters. My condolences are extended to each of them at this time.  I know she will be truly missed on this earth as she enjoys her new life with our Savior.  Sincerely,  Joyce LeRoux



A precious friend for 70 years and I will miss her very much.  We shared many wonderful memories and other experiences over the years and she was always there to talk to when we each had time. We never had any trouble talking with each other - even after we had not done so for a while.  Her sense of humor was much like her parents - subtle and delightful.  She will be truly missed.



Dear Tom. Pat, and Carolyn,     I am sorry that I will not be able to attend your Mother's funeral service. Whenever you have the graveside service at San Antonio, please let me know, and I will try to be there. It is strange that your Mother died on the same day that my Father was buried 56 years ago. Pop died on the same day my parents were married and Nana died on the same day as her father-in-lawâs birthday. They are all now together again. She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.   Just to let you know, I have been converting my parents and Popâs old 8mm movies over to video. I have movies of your Mother at the Ballard Farm in the late 40âs as well as a short clip of your Mother and Dad right before they got married.
