Dorothy O. Carey passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021 in Buda, Texas. Dorothy was born on July 14, 1928 in Bluegrove, Texas to John and Minnie Dubberly. The third of three children. She was predeceased by Horace Lafelle Carey which she was married to for 49 years.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Phillip Carey and wife Brenda, Lloyd Carey and wife Bernie. Grandson, Justin and partner Katie. Great-grandson, Bentley. Sister, Johnnie Mae McGee. Two nieces, Deloris Flint and husband John, and Patti Morgan and husband Mike. Several great nieces and nephews.
She was a long time member of the Church of Christ in Hyde Park. A loving, devoted sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy will be remembered for her friendship, wit, laughter and beauty. She will be missed by every heart she touched.
The family will hold a private service in Bluegrove, Texas. In lieu of customary remembrances, donations in Dorothy’s name can be made to one’s favorite charity or cause.
