On Saturday, October 13, 2012, Dorothy was released from the confines of her bed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. She joins her husband, Fieldon; parents, John L. and Isabel Ruth Moulden; and brother, Pat. Dorothy was born on September 12, 1924 in Austin and attended Austin Public Schools. She worked for IRS, where she met Fieldon, they were married in 1947. She wholeheartedly and unselfishly helped Fieldon in his business ventures.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking new and old recipes. She prepared many dishes for family and church gatherings. If a new product appeared on the grocery shelves, she wanted to try it. Also, Dorothy was a master seamstress. She made most of her daughters’ school clothes and all of their dresses for school proms. She made swimsuits for her son, at the time known as “jams”. If something needed sewing up or hemmed, she got it done. She loved being a deaconess at South Austin Christian Church and getting supplies for communion.
Dorothy was the person you could depend on to help out to those in need. If someone needed a visit in the hospital, a ride, or a meal, she would volunteer her time.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Wayne Berry, spouse, Beverly, Sharon Tisdale, spouse, Jim, and Rachel Halliburton, spouse, Billy; grandchildren, Cory, Brittany, Megan, Laura, Jamie and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Stetson, Justin, Kailey, Christopher, Shayla, Archer and Juniper.
Special appreciation for the exceptional care Olivia and Tim Helm gave to mom. Also, thank you to Hospice Austin for their support.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
