Doris Virginia Ellis Miller, age 86, of Austin, Texas passed away May 18, 2015. She was born in Austin, Texas on December 16, 1928 to Richard and Anita Ellis. She was married to Frank Miller on April 14, 1950 and together they had three sons and a daughter.
She attended Austin High School and Texas Lutheran College. She worked at the Texas Highway Department after college for a few years and then raised her family and then became a Librarian for the City of Austin for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. Doris was an accomplished artist. She loved painting with oils and wood carving.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, her sister, Pat Krause, and grandson Brandon. She is survived by her son David and wife Shannon, son Steve and wife Lorella, daughter Lynn and Bill Payne, son Paul and wife Brenda, three grandsons, and two great grandchildren.
Doris was loved for her wit and friendliness, she was loved and will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 North Lamar Blvd on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Wednesday May 20, 2015 from 6-8 pm.
