Doris LaFern Holden

Doris was married to her high school sweetheart, William Abbott Holden Jr., for 63 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Reggie and Beth, and was loved by many from her church community through the years. She is survived by her two daughters, Reggie Wilson and Beth Kells and her spouse Barry Wilson; grandchildren Eric Wilson, Philip Kells, Amber and Coy Veith; and her great granddaughter Drew Badowski.

Doris loved sharing stories of being raised on the prison farm, going out dancing with her sisters and shooting alligators from the back porch, just to name a few.

She also loved road trips with W.A., from Yellowstone for their 50th wedding anniversary to Mt. Rushmore. They made wonderful memories together and loved each other so very much. Doris will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday August 31, 2017 at Cook Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church at 7815 Hwy. 290 W., Austin, Texas 78736

Burial at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas to take place at a later date.
