Doris Ilene Hafner of Austin, Texas went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the age of 86. She was born to Carl and Zalia Kellerman on October 22, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri. Doris met her husband, Patrick, on a blind date and they were married shortly after on April 6, 1957. She was busy as an Air Force wife and traveled throughout the United States and Europe.
Family was most important to Doris. She will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 65 years, Patrick, daughter Barbara, and husband Keith, son Tim, and wife Juli. Doris will affectionately be remembered as Grandma and Nana by her 8 grandchildren, Gabriel, Joshua, Genna, Patti, and husband Will, Zach and wife Jade, Seth, Jake, and McKenna, and her 3 great-grandchildren, Wes, Wyatt, and Addy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Elsa and Cristina, for the care and compassion they showed Doris the last months of her life.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Doris at 10:00 am on Friday, February 24, 2023 at St. Catherine of Siena, 4800 Convict Hill Road with Reverend Raypureddy officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
