Dora Escalante, 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. Dora loved angels and she will be fondly remembered as one herself. Her loving spirit and infectious smile penetrated the hearts of those with whom she came in contact. She dearly loved her husband and sons and she adored her grandchildren! Doras family attributes their successes to her leadership, discipline, and love. Her family will always love her and will miss her immensely; however they are comforted in knowing that she is with our God resting in peace and she is free at last from pain and suffering. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on September 21, 1940, she was preceded in death by her father Charles Buentello. She is survived by her mother, Isabel Cancino Buentello; husband of 48 years, Louis P. Escalante; son, Michael Escalante, wife Fawn; son, Luis Escalante, Jr., wife Sherri; grandchildren, Marissa Escalante, Marc Escalante, Lindsay Escalante, and Zoe Escalante; and brothers Carlos Buentello and Gonzalo Buentello. She is also survived by numerous loving family members and friends. Doras family would like to thank Monsignor Fred Bomar, pastor, and prayer minister, Sheila Ward, St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church, for their prayers and spiritual devotion to healing. In addition, Doras family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many family members and friends who kept Dora and her family close in prayer and thought. Moreover, Doras family would like to thank her doctors and the staffs of Seton Medical Center, St. Davids Rehabilitation Hospital, AseraCare Hospice, and Hospice Austins Christopher House for their compassionate care and support. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church with Monsignor Fred Bomar officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church, P.O.
