Donna Jean Goodrich

Donna was born on June 7, 1944 to Winston and Artie Mae Graham. She grew up on the Waggoner Ranch and graduated from Oklaunion High School in 1962. After graduating with an Elementary Education degree from Midwestern State University in 1966, she taught at the Emporia State Teachers College Elementary School in Emporia, Kansas, along with Sheppard Air Force Base Elementary in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Without question, Donna’s greatest joy was her children, who remember her ability to make everyday occasions special. She became “CoCo” with the birth of her first grandson and cherished her role as a grandmother. Donna was also a loyal and loving sister and friend. She had impeccable taste and always presented the most thoughtful and beautifully wrapped gifts at just the right moments. Her love of interiors, estate sales and antiques flourished during the eleven years she worked for Katherine Edwards Interiors. She also loved to travel.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Winston and Artie Mae Graham of Vernon, Texas. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Joe Szczytowski of Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Brienne Goodrich of Austin; two grandsons, Witt and Quinn Szczytowski; a granddaughter, Dean Goodrich; sister, Karen Thomas of College Station, TX; brother, Richard Graham of Rockport, TX; five nieces, Carey Graham McBride of Wichita Falls, Lisa Graham Gawenis of League City, TX, Michele Thomas Stevens of San Antonio, Shannon Thomas of Austin, Kendra Goodrich Kelly of Edmond, OK; and one nephew, Jeff Goodrich of Edmond, OK.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Grace Church in Wichita Falls with Pastor Tom Rodgers officiating.
