Donna was born on September 12, 1943 in Moravia NY to Clifford and Evelyn Ulings. She grew up in Moravia and was a cheerleader at Moravia High School. While babysitting for family friends, Donna met their younger brother Joe Dyer. Donna and Joe were married on October 30, 1961. Two years later they were blessed with a baby girl, Veronica. She was Donna's pride and joy.
Joe & Donna had the good sense to leave New York and move to Texas and forever called it home. She worked at various jobs before landing as a clerical assistant for Rooster Andrews Sporting Goods, where she learned to bleed orange! After a while, she was promoted to personal secretary for Rooster Andrews. She loved it and was lucky enough to meet so many people, from athletes to astronauts! After leaving Rooster's, she ran several successful businesses. She ran a business for Gary Bowers, her adopted son for 4 years. Before retiring, she worked for her daughter as a bookkeeper in her accounting firm.
Donna was a very active member of Santa Cruz Catholic Church. She served on several committees and ministries over the past 30 years.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Evelyn. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joseph Dyer, her daughter Veronica Snyder and husband Daniel and the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Danielle Snyder.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be held, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10 AM in the chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family would like you to make donations to The Cancer Society, any animal care facility or the church of your choice in Donna's name.
