Diane Linda Engelbrecht died on January 9, 2010. Her interests will continue nevertheless by her inspiration of others. Diane was born on December 23, 1953, in Austin. She graduated from John H. Reagan High School in 1972. She received a Masters of Library Science from the University of Texas in 1978. Diane began employment at Perry-Castañeda Library at the University of Texas in 1978. This facility, part of the General Libraries, and its excellent reputation were an inspiring influence on Diane. As one of the skilled professional librarians handling the finest collection in the South, Diane was fulfilled by her work. Charles Yale was her closest friend. She liked his creative talents. Diane was preceded in death by Charles. She is survived by her parents Jane and Bill Engelbrecht; brother John and sister-in-law Margaret; brother James; niece Janell and her husband Cory Thompson; nephew Joe Black and his fiancé Stephanie; and numerous relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 21, at 10:00 A.M. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, with visitation afterwards.
