Debra G. Hicks

Debbie was born June 6, 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a resident of Austin for the past 35 years residing with her aunt and uncle, Jeannie and Hugh Cottle until 2011. She lived at Houston House for the past 3 years where she had many friends who cared deeply for her. She enjoyed all kinds of activities that Houston House afforded her. She enjoyed going to dances, movies, arts and crafts and going out for pizza and spending quality times with her cousins and the family pets.

Debbie had a very special relationship with her Aunt Jeannie who was deeply devoted to her. She loved going on all the family trips to the coast in Rockport, Texas and our frequent trips to Elgin visiting with other friends and relatives.

Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mable and Ralph Jones; parents, Frank and Dee Hicks; sister, Jeannie Marie Hicks; brother, Stephen Hicks, and her Aunt Jeannie and husband, Hugh Cottle, and by her Uncle Lloyd Hicks.

Debbie is survived by her cousins, Carol J. Dotson, Michael Cottle, Jennifer Olsen, Ashley Gibbs, Kierstyn Wiley, Barbara Tiedt, Courtney Tiedt, and other family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Cook Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park with Chaplain Peggy Stoll to officiate.

It is with heavy hearts that our family and friends must say goodbye for now but we are comforted knowing that she will find peace and happiness in the joyful reunion with the loved ones who have gone before her.

A new star in heaven now shines brightly for all eternity for our “little Debbie.”
