Deborah Yvonne Parven, born April 3, 1963 in Austin, TX, passed away unexpectedly Thursday February 12, 2015. She is survived by her brothers Stephen (wife Kathy) and Cary, she was a devoted aunt to her nieces Sara, Stacey and Marci. Deborah is preceded in death by her mother Mina and father Leonard. Deborah’s spiritual upbringing centered around Congregation Agudas Achim and her beloved grandmother’s home that was the nucleus for all family holiday gatherings. She graduated from Anderson High School, and was most proud of completing her B.A. degree at the University of Texas later in life. Deborah worked for the State of Texas, and over 10 years worked for the American Cancer Society. There she was an exemplary employee providing compassion and guidance for those seeking help, receiving a reward in recognition of her service. Even though she was ill throughout much of her later years, she was able to fulfill some of her dreams – going on unforgettable trips with her Aunt Elayne and her mother where she swam with dolphins in Mexico, seeing the sights and sounds of Las Vegas with Stephen and Kathy, and seeing Broadway shows in New York with her Aunt Elayne. Deborah was a subscriber to the Austin Broadway series with her Aunt, and often spent time listening to her favorite Broadway music. Deborah loved to play cards and was always up for a game of “baja rummy”, and was a real animal lover – especially of dogs. She will be forever missed.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015 at 1:30 pm at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, Rabbi Neil Blumofe officiating. In memory of our sweet Deborah, the family welcomes donations made to the American Cancer Society, the Crohn’s and Colitis Society or a charity of your choice.
