Deborah Ann McDermott

Deborah (who was also known as Debbie) is survived by her son Thomas (Tommy) V. McDermott; of Georgetown; her parents Vincent and Gertrude Ricci; brothers Domenic, Vincent, and Nicholas Ricci, and sister Rosemarie Ricci, all of Massachusetts; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Thomas J. McDermott as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her aunt Dorothy with whom she was very close.

Deborah was born on September 24, 1952 in Boston, Massachusetts. A graduate of Braintree, Mass. High School, she served in the U.S. Navy where she met and married her husband. They moved to Texas, living in Floresville and New Braunfels while raising their son Tommy, who was a great joy to Deborah all of her life.

Deborah was very social and friendly anywhere life took her. She had a great many life-long friends she kept in touch with for many years. Her family and friends will always remember her as a woman with a kind soul and beautiful smile who was a joy to spend time with, whether cooking or just drinking coffee and chatting.

A celebration of life is scheduled for September 8th, 2016 from 4 PM to 8 PM, at The Enterprise Club, 224 Clinton Street, Brockton, Massachusetts, 02302. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Deborah’s life with her family. A secondary celebration will be held in Texas for her loving friends and family who live in the Texas area, date to be announced at a future time. Remembrances can be sent to Thomas V.
