David P. Hamner, of Austin, passed away at home on Monday, November 29, 2004 at the age of 91. Mildred Alice Hamner, his wife of 50 years, preceded him in death in 1987. Also greeting him in heaven are his parents, Rosa and Edwin Hamner; brothers, Edward, Paul, Robert, and J. Lyle and sister, Lucile. Left to cherish his life and memories are wife, Earlene; daughters, Pamela Anderson and husband Dennis and Cathy Jewett and husband Douglas; grandchildren, Cole and Paige Anderson and Brian Jewett and other family members. David was a dedicated member of Hyde Park Christian Church in Austin and while living in Dallas, a member of Lakeview Christian Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3rd at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Austin Memorial Park on Hancock Drive. Dr. Leslie Green will officiate with Dr. Robert Bowen assisting. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Grundy, Leonard Ferrell, Fred Conder, Leland Stevenson, John Barringer and Norm Kinney. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Austin Optimist Club and Hill City Lodge #456 A.F. & A.M. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the loving support and countless prayers offered David during his illness.
