Our beloved Danny R. Gomez, 62, of Austin, Texas was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. He is reunited with his parents, Daniel Perez Gomez and Raquel Ramirez Gomez, and sister, Lydia Gomez Chavez.
Danny is survived by his only child, Crystal “Chris” M. Gomez; special friend, Connie Selestino; brother, Benjamin Gomez (wife, Anita); sisters, Neomi Ramirez (husband Frank), Martha Kehoe (husband Joe), Amelia Macias (husband Luis), and Ruth Maldonado; his three grandsons, Adrian, Brandon and Caleb Fernandez; and many nieces and nephews.
Danny was born in Abilene, Texas and moved with his family to Austin in the early 1970s, and at the age of 15, he secured his first job at H-E-B on 7th Street. Danny graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and faithfully served the state of Texas for over 37 years with 27 of those years as an employee of the Texas State Securities Board. Many knew Danny as a quiet soul but those close to him knew that he was not short of words and was willing to offer the best of advice. He was an honorable man who loved visiting churches in search of spiritual guidance.
We will always remember the sound that his boots made as he entered a room. Danny will be greatly missed by family and friends. We will carry him in our hearts until the day we meet again.
