Dan (Danny, Big Dan, Grandpa Dan) was born October 3, 1955, in Lubbock, Texas to Frank and Janie Davila. He was raised in Lubbock, TX and after graduating high school in 1974, he joined the US Air Force where he served until 1980. Dan worked for the US Postal Service, where he made many friends and retired on January 1, 2016. Dan married Irene on March 10, 1990, and recently celebrated their 33rd anniversary.
Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, playing cards, football boards, bowling, target shooting and was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his mother Janie Davila in 2022. Dan is survived by his wife Irene Davila, father Frank Davila, brother Gilbert Davila, stepchildren Rose Koneski, Rhonda Koneski and wife Jennifer, Ronald Koneski and wife Brianna, granddaughters Abigail and Emmalyn Koneski, nephews Jesse Davila and Kevin Herrera, nieces Isamari Davila and Dawn Helphand, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial service will be at 2:30pm on July 27, 2023 Weed-Corley-Fish funeral home located at: 5416 Parkcrest Dr., Austin, TX 78731. Light refreshments will be provided immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post #83, 4401 E. St. Elmo Rd., Austin, TX 78744.
