Dan passed away peacefully on May 22, 2016, after a lengthy illness with ALS Lou Gehrig's Disease. He had a kind and gentle soul. Dan was a loyal and trusted friend and a true soul mate to his wife Jill for 39 years.
Dan loved travel, history, photography, music, and painting. He had many wonderful life experiences. Dan had a special way of integrating all of his experiences into his incredible talents. His lifelong passion for history resulted in his authoring a six-volume book entitled, "A History of Britain."
Dan was an avid tennis player, always looking forward to a spirited battle on the court with longtime teammates. He was a connoisseur of NXNW craft beers and Chef George Powell's game hen.
The special people who were always there throughout this difficult journey are greatly appreciated. Although ALS took Dan's physical body, it never broke his spirit or his thirst for life.
A special thanks to Tanya Pardo and Jack Harrison for giving comfort and support and making Dan always feel safe.
There will be a Memorial Service held for Dan on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 1:00 P.M., at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan’s memory to Gold Ribbon Rescue at www.grr-tx.com.
