On January 29th, 2014 Damon left this world to be with his lord and savior in eternal peace and with salvation with Jesus Christ our Lord at the age of 80 years. Damon was born as a fourth generation Austinite to Robert and Flora Naumann.
Damon attended Austin High School, graduating in 1951, and then attending the University of Texas in pursuit of an engineering degree. Damon worked for the Texas Highway Department (now the Texas Department of Transportation) for over 37 years serving the citizens of Texas in many rolls by improving and maintaining our highway system. Damon also served the State of Texas and the United States of America as an Airman in the Texas Air National Guard reaching the rank of First Sergeant (E-8) with over 22 years of service. After retirement from the State of Texas and the Air Force, Damon went to work for the Federal Emergency Management Agency as a liaison to local authorities for damage assessments after natural disasters. Never one to sit still, Damon worked to make his home a place for the entire family to enjoy. Whether it was waterskiing, or just sitting and watching the humming birds and exotic fish, he was most at peace outdoors with his family and close friends. He also enjoyed travelling for pleasure all over the United States.
Damon is predeceased by his beloved mother and father, and sister Ruby Nell Shannon. Damon is survived by his sister Dian Naumann, Son Dewayne Naumann and wife Theresa of Austin, and daughter Rebecca Stacks and Husband Daniel of San Antonio. Damon is also survived by three treasured grandsons: Travis and Matthew Naumann of Austin, Christopher Stacks of San Antonio,
