After high school, Dale joined the US Air Force and was stationed in many different countries including Libya, Germany, Morocco, and England. It was in Banbury, England that he met Antonia Garcia Abad, soon to become Antonia Shuck, his wife for 56 happy years. They adopted one daughter, Rosemary. After a few more military moves, including a tour of duty in Vietnam, the family settled down in Austin in 1973. Dale retired from the Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service then continued his Governmental service for 20 more years with the US Postal Service, but his hidden talent was the ability to fix almost anything that broke around the house. In his younger years, he was an avid runner and completed many Capitol 10Ks. Dale was a devoted parishioner of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus for 39 years.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Antonia ‘Toni’, who will be there to welcome him into Heaven.
Dale is survived by his loving daughter, Rosemary, of Louisville, KY.
