Dale was born on February 18, 1940, in Galveston, TX. Dale graduated from La Marque High School, TX, in 1957. He served his country in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965 on a missile launch crew in Salina, KS. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science in the School of Architecture. He spent 21 years in Austin, TX, working for the State of Texas as the State Building Manager.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Ross Bolyard, and mother, Helen Connorty Bolyard.
Dale is survived by his wife Barbara, two sons: Chris and his wife, Stephanie; Erick and his wife Crystal; four granddaughters: Megan, Haleigh, Alie, and Emma; three brothers-in-law: Rip, Jet, his wife Tracy, and Chip Hirsch as well as many loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Dale was a devout Christian. He attended Calvary Chapel, Bastrop.
After retirement Dale volunteered with Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service (RVICS) and Christian Motorcyclist’s Association (CMA). In 1992 he resurrected a 1977 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and that was the beginning of his motorcycle touring. From 1995 to 2012, he and Barbara traveled 98,156 miles on 4 different Honda Gold Wing motorcycles.
Dale will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. His family loves him deeply and forever. They are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from his family and friends.
It was a blessing to have Dale in our lives and he will always be loved. He now finds peace with Jesus Christ and may we all hold him in our hearts always.

A memorial service will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. An inurnment will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX 78749.
