I met Conrad when I came to Texas. I only know much about him and Karlene through their grandson Erik, my brother. Conrad and  Karlene never failed a single school, birthdays or any activities that my brother is in. Both of them doesn't mind driving 5 hours for a 5 minutes recital. I am blessed to know both of them and know that my brother grow up with the greatest grandpa he could asked for. Through God's comfort and memories together will help us during this difficult time. We will miss you everyday and forever.

I meet Conrad in 5th grade in Ann Arbor, Michigan and there grew up to be friends through high school. We (and 4 others) joined the Marine Corps. We all got out of service and went our separate ways. We got together off and on until he moved to Texas. We still kept in touch through the years. He was a good man. Sorry to see him go but he's in a good place now. God Bless.

Conrad's life was a testament to faith, family, responsibility and courage. I was fortunate to meet Conrad and Karlene in the vegetable garden at Bannockburn Church. Their committment to its cultivation and upkeep was exceptional   as was Karlene's dedication to Conrad's health and well-being - both thrived under her attentive care. My deepest sympathies to Conrad's family and loved ones; his optimism, wide grin and hearty laugh will be missed but not forgotten.

     Uncle Conrad made the best chocolate chips cookies that I have ever had! I used to board my horse in Addison, Michigan where he once lived and my favorite part of the ride was the cookies and coffee that always followed.
     He was also the kindest man.  He once made me so proud as an 11 year old when he asked if he could buy my newborn pinto filly because she was so well built. He was joking of course, but he made me so happy with his interest.
     He practiced random acts of kindness.  When I was in college and without resources, he came on my birthday to lay carpet in my kitchen as a gift.  It was totally unexpected and a wonderful surprise! It improved my quality of life so much since the place was an old rundown, one room schoolhouse. In later years, he sent me a bread machine from Texas, just out of the blue, to show that he was thinking of me. 
     Although I haven't seen Uncle Conrad in many years, he holds a place in my heart that will always exist. Such a wonderful man! We are all blessed to have known him! May you rest peacefully, with love, your neice, Cheryle

I will always love my favorite Uncle, & miss him much. I know Uncle Conrad is in heaven bouncing a child on his knee, talking in his deep voice,  laughing loud & loving much. My prayers are with you, Karlene, as well as Cal & all of U. Conrad's Michigan family. My heart hurts knowing you're gone & we never saw each other again like we talked about. In care, love & peace.

My father's name was Lee Hiser and he was born in Columbiana, Ohio in 1925 to Iona Seibert Hiser and Noble Hiser - do you think they were related? It's such and unusual last name ... just wondered!

I will always remember a firm handshake, direct eye contact and seeing him on his hands and knees making sure that the seedlings he planted in the BBC Childrens Garden were properly spaced and aligned. My regards to the family.
