July 27, 1926 and died in Austin on May 8, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Eugenia
Richards, daughter Sally Hunter and her husband Dave Hunter, granddaughter Sarah
Walton Hunter, all of Austin, and grandson David Hunter MD of Houston, twin brother
Clarence, brother Don and sister Lorraine Broom.
In 1944, Cliff joined the Navy as a Naval Aviator trainee receiving his Wings in 1947 and
completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering at UT in 1948. Moving to Houston, he
worked in Industrial Machinery Sales in Houston, retiring in 1992.
Cliff was an avid tennis player even at age 89 and for many years enjoyed flying his
sailplane. He became a Christian as a young teenager in El Paso. He loved the Lord
and was a faithful member of the church all his life. He and Eugenia have been active
members of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin where he served as a deacon.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 11th at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin.
