Celia was a native of Austin, Texas and graduated from Johnson High School in 1966. She worked in the administrative field and retired from the State of Texas.
Celia was a follower of Jesus Christ. She was a loving mother of three daughters and grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Celia is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Mendoza and Anastacia Mendoza and siblings, Fidencio Mendoza, Maria Luisa Mendoza, Victor Mendoza, Ernest Mendoza, Marie A. Hardison, Dorothy M. Limon, and Earl “Joe” Mendoza.
Celia is survived by her twin sister, Cecelia S. Mendoza, her children, Irene Sanchez, Lita A. Rendon, and Veronica A. Sanchez; her grandchildren, Adrianna M. Rodriguez, Adrian Villegas, Daysi Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Manuel Larrea, Angelina Larrea, Makaila A. Mints, Isabelle J. Mints, Marques A. Mints, King A. Arevalo, Jacob T. Rendon, Josiah A. Rendon, Abigail Rendon and great-grandchildren, Adrian J. Ortiz and Mia L. Ortiz; her sisters, Cordelia Mendoza, Cecilia S. Mendoza and Dolores Flores.
In celebration of Celia’s life service will be September 16, 2022, at 11:00 at Hays Hills Baptist Church, 1401 N. Farm to Market 1626, Buda, Texas 78610.
Interment to follow at 1:00 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749.
