Cecilia Perales Harvey

Cecilia was born on December 18, 1935 in Luling, Texas. Her parents were Pedro Perales Sr. and Ursula Estrada Perales. Cecilia was raised in Luling, Texas. Cecilia grew up with four other siblings, Rita, Mary, Pedro Jr., and Gloria Perales.

Cecilia married Emilio Villarreal Sr., and had three sons, Emilo Villarreal Jr., David Steve Villarreal Sr., and Daniel Villarreal Sr., two daughters Linda Sue Villarreal and Cynthia Ann Villarreal. She also had a daughter Sylvia that passed away at birth. She was a loving mother and the best mother she could be. The children always loved her and she was completely and totally devoted to them.

Cecilia was widowed at a young age and raising five children on her own was hard and challenging but she overcome all her obstacles with the faith of the Lord.

Cecilia found a second chance with love and remarried Sergeant Glen Robert Clifton Harvey. They married in 1975. They had a sweet fur baby poodle Missy.

Cecilia was a hard worker, she was a library clerk at the Central Faulkner Library in downtown Austin, Texas. She retired from the City of Austin Water and Wastewater Department.

Cecilia was well loved by many, she had an aura around her that attracted everyone to her. She was a loving person and would do anything for her family and friends. She was always delightful to be around. She would crack jokes and have everyone laughing.

Cecilia’s faith was very important to her. She was a lifetime member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She always slept with her rosary every night.

Cecilia met our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 with her family by her side. She died peacefully around loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro Perales Sr., and Ursula Estrada Perales, her sister Rita, her daughter Sylvia, her husband’s Emilio Villarreal Sr. and Sergeant Glen Harvey, her three sons, Emilio Villarreal Jr., David Steve Villarreal Sr., and Daniel Villarreal Sr.

Cecilia is survived by her two sisters, Mary and Gloria, her brother Pedro Perales Jr., her two daughter Linda Sue Villarreal and Cynthia Ann Villarreal, 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and plenty of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78757. Interment will follow at Community Cemetery in Luling, Texas.

Throughout her life, Cecilia was a wonderful, loving woman. She was generous in her life by going and helping those she knew and loved.

Cecilia was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could have. Her sweet beautiful smile will be greatly missed. Her quick and funny remarks will always be remembered. Cecilia leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories with her family. Everyone whose lives she touched will dearly remember Mrs. Cecilia Harvey. Granny you will always be in our hearts.
