Cathy Curlee Martin, 70, of Austin entered into her heavenly father’s arms on January 16, 2017 at Legend Oaks Healthcare Center in Austin, Texas. She led a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 2, 1946, in Sinton, Texas to Dr. Curtis Leo Curlee MD and Catherine Wood.
She graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in Education and worked over 30 years with the Department of Health and Human Services, where she has countless friends. She attended Grace Covenant Church where she worked on the Recording Ministry. After retirement Cathy volunteered at the Restoration Arts Center, ministering in the Kids Bible Club and conversational English for adults and preschoolers.
Cathy was deeply cherished and cared for by her best friend, Helen McMeen of 44 years. Also thanks to Cathy’s special friends: Bev Brown, Jennie Stuckard, Diane Sheflin, Karen Reeves, Shelley Schreyer and Glad Curlee.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Claude Martin MD, her parents and her sister, Carol Curlee. She is survived by her brother, Curtis Curlee and his family.

At Cathy’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Health Sense Hospice.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, the 19th of January at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin TX 78752.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, 20th of January at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
