Carolyn Estrada Castro

Our beautiful Angel on Earth, Carolyn Estrada Castro, age 61, of Austin, received her wings and was peacefully called to eternal rest on June 11, 2022.

Carolyn—the matriarch of our family—was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and friend. She loved all of her family immensely and unconditionally and strived to live life to the fullest!

Carolyn was a proud City of Austin retiree; she built many dear and lifelong friendships during her 25+ years of service.

Carolyn was sweet and soft-spoken and will always be remembered for her kindness, her caring, supportive and encouraging nature, and her love for music and bling. She exhibited class and grace in all that she did until her very last day.

She is preceded in death by parents, Martin Dominguez Estrada and Isabel Mary Segura Estrada; sister, Yvonne Estrada; and husband, Rudy P. Castro.

She is survived by her family, each of whom held a special place in her heart and who will forever carry on her memory with joy—

Children: Mark Castillo (Jaime), Don Castillo (Bridget), Megan Castro (Karaan); and step-daughter, Michelle Castro Barrera (Victor).

Fourteen grandchildren: Marquis, Ariana (Joseph), Mark Jr., Andres, Jacob, Isaiah, Aniston, Melina, Quentin, Gavin, Pilar, Caroline, Anya and Teri Ann; step grandson Bryan S. Lewis (Azeria); and three great-grandchildren: Malana, Jenesis and Mark III.

Siblings: Deborah Estrada, Martin Estrada Jr. (Lora), Catherine Estrada, Michael Estrada (Gloria), Anthony Estrada (Michelle), Patricia Estrada (Rudolph) and Elizabeth Estrada; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored, as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial service and recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Weed-Corley-Fish, 2620 South Congress Avenue, 78704. www.wcfishsouth.com
