Carol Ann Urbany

Carol Ann Urbany will again get to see her Father, Mother, and Sister in Heaven. She was born on August 5, 1936, in Plainview, Texas. She passed away on April 8, 2023, at her home in Austin, Texas at the age of 86 years old.

She attended Tucumcari High School in NM and attended college at Eastern New Mexico University. Her life in so many aspects is full of her days as a military spouse, working as a licensed real estate agent, Newspaper Advertising Sales, providing hearing tests/marketing hearing aids and finally retiring from Texas State Health Department.

One of her dreams was to use her cooking ability and she did by opening the Round-up BBQ restaurant in Plattsburgh, NY. The smoked brisket, ribs, potato salad, and coleslaw were great, but she also made the best peach cobbler and Texas chocolate sheet cake (which will be missed). She also loved watching her grandkids and great grandkids play in her backyard and at many dance competitions and sporting events.

She was predeceased by father C.A Smith and mother Marie Smith, as well as her sister, Betty Sue Reed and Betty’s husband, Sherman Reed. She is survived by her five children and spouses, Jim, Ron [Dawn], Lou [Shelly], Phillip [Jeanne] and Lindy [Pete]; Nine grandchildren and spouses, Bryce [Julie}, Nicholas, Morgan [Cody], Kenedy, Tyler, Carson [Tristan], Cooper, and Reagan and Five Great grandchildren, Beckham, Maisyn, Presley, Myles and Adam.

There will be a memorial of her life celebration at a date to be determined in Austin, Texas.
