Carol Jean Hawkins Boyd was born to Edna and Warren Hawkins on August 27, 1951, and was a lifelong resident of Austin, Texas.
She graduated from John H. Reagan High School. Carol then met and married Bill Boyd and they raised two sons, Neil and Gene.
She was employed by Westview Development, Inc. in the early 1980’s in the accounting department. She was involved in the development of The Davenport Ranch until it’s completion. While working at Davenport, she was inspired to go back to school and earn her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from St. Edward’s University in 1992. Upon completion of her studies, she obtained her Certified Public Accountant’s certification in February 1995. In March of 1997, Carol partnered with Andy Baker and formed Anjin Computing, which is currently known as ACI. In January of 2007, she was employed by Lonestar Logos as Controller and continued to work for Lonestar from home when her health began to fail.
Carol was a member of the Austin Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and served as President in 2005-2006. She was the recipient of the CPA-IGE of the Year award in 1996-97.
Carol was an avid Texas Longhorn fan. She held season tickets to the Longhorn Baseball games for 30+ years and attended every home game at Disch-Faulk Field that she was able to. She loved her Longhorns and was an Orange Blood all the way.
Andy, Carol’s partner in ACI, loved to joke with Carol and they would have a barbeque lunch every other Wednesday afternoon until she was no longer able to go. Carol loved to read and travel and spend time with friends, of whom she had many as Carol never met a stranger.
She is survived by her son, Gene Boyd; grandson, Cooper; sisters, Judy Mills and husband, Bruce and Diana Michalk; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Warren Hawkins and her son, Neil.
