Caranda Brooke Yocum Mathis, 38 of Austin, passed away suddenly on December 18, 2019. The family will be celebrating Brooke’s life at Cook Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2019, 2:30pm. All are invited and floral offerings are welcome.
Brooke was born on April 29, 1981 in Bridgeport, Texas to the late Bruce K. Yocum and Elizabeth “Scotty” Tittor and her husband, Paul. Brooke, or Brookie as she was lovingly known by those close to her, graduated from Texas State University. She married the love of her life and best friend, John B. “Trey” Mathis, III, on August 12, 2013. Together the two owned and operated two successful businesses in Austin. Although she was a hard worker and extremely bright, most will remember Brooke as always having a smile on her face. She was one of the most loving people and was always generous. Whether you were a patron or a close friend of Brooke’s, it didn’t matter, she always treated everyone like family. Her personality could light up a room and her kind heart never met a stranger. Brooke will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Trey Mathis; parents, Paul and Scotty Tittor; father and mother in-law, John B. Jr. and Bettie Mathis; brothers, Morgan Yocum, Brandon Tittor and wife Trish, Michael Tittor and wife Melanie, and Adam Tittor; grandmother, Donna Yocum; grandparents, Richard and Barbara Bellamy; nieces, Emma, Lana and Rose; nephews, James and Sterling; and by numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and best friend, Mel Lugar.
Brooke is preceded in death by her father, Bruce Yocum; grandparents, Randall and Carlene Morehead; and grandfather, Ed Yocum.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the countless friends, family, and acquaintances of Brooke’s for their outpouring of love during this difficult time.
