Brian Carl Locklear, age 14, died unexpectedly June 30, 2003. He was born in Huntsville, AL Sept. 8, 1988, and has lived in Austin, TX for the last 7 years. Brian was an honor student at Grisham Middle School, where he was very active in student organizations, including the orchestra where he was 1st chair cello. He enjoyed reading, and was a very talented artist. He enjoyed swimming, playing computer games, mountain biking, water skiing, blacksmithing and playing canasta. This summer, Brian traveled to Montreal to Space Camp with his Tech Ed Class, where he went river rafting, and also learned to water ski on a family trip to Land Between the Lakes. His friends and family will fondly remember Brians loving nature, his wonderful sense of humor, and his willingness to help others. He recently traveled with his church group to Port Aransas, where they worked on a clean-up project to preserve the beach. We are grateful for the kindness he showed us and others, and the time we were allowed to spend with him. Words cannot express the love we had for Brian or that he had for others. He will be greatly missed. Brian is survived by his parents Bob and Sally Locklear; sister Susan; grandparents Clark and Kay Seymour, Dan and Sue McFarlan, and Bobby and Brenda Locklear; and his loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
