Bill Tullos, 81, of Austin passed away July 24, 2011 in Austin, Texas. He was born in Goldthwaite, Texas on June 8, 1930 to May and Earl Tullos. He was raised in San Antonio and after graduating from San Antonio High School he enlisted in the Navy, serving four years.
Bill and Barbara were married in 1952 and had three children: Debbie, David and Greg. From day one Bill devoted and lived his life for his family.
Later his family grew as David married Barbara Davis and they presented Bill and his wife, Barbara, with two wonderful grandsons, Matthew and Kyle. And then Susan Morgan entered our lives when she married Greg and gave us Chase and Morgan. Then grandson, Kyle, married Ashley and great-granddaughter, Kylie Rose was born.
Bill worked hard and was able to fulfill his dream of buying a beautiful, secluded piece of property on the Colorado River. We built a house there on a hill above the river and we spent many wonderful days there over the past 25 years, nearly always with our children and grandchildren.
Bill died July 24, 2011 one day before he and Barbara would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
He leaves behind his wife, children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter and his sisters, Betty Castano, Rita Turner and Margaret Tewell to mourn his loss.
We thank God for calling him home to release him from his pain. He will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 27th of July, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas with The Rev. James V. Stockton officiating. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks, Pflugerville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to Veterans Village of San Diego, 4141 Pacific Hwy., San Diego, California 92110 or Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road Suite 100, Austin, Texas, 78759.
