Billy was born on August 19th, 1930 in High Point, North Carolina. He passed away on October 8th, 2015 in Lakeway, Texas.
Billy proudly served his country, enlisting in the Marine Corp in 1951. He served in the Korean War and honorably earned a Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
After being honorably discharged, Billy found himself working for Willie Nelson for many years to come. He was a loyal friend, employee and family member. Billy was loved by many that knew him.
Billy is survived by his daughter, Haley Smith and husband, Jeremiah Smith of Nevada; grandchildren Christian Killgo and Trinity Shearer; his son, Jeff Cooper and sister, Dorothy Goforth of San Antonio.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Verda Grace Cooper; father, George W. Cooper; and brothers, G.W. Cooper, Jr. and Davy Lee Cooper.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Havens, Paul English, Willie Nelson, Tim O'Connor, Earl Campbell and Ray Benson.
