He was born April 14, 1927 to Joseph and Marguerite Meurer. He served our country in the Army 29th infantry regiment from 1945 to 1947. He received an occupational medal and a WWII Victory medal. He met the love of his life in 1948 and married 6 months later on September 25, 1948. They lived an awesome life together for over 67 years.
Our daddy loved God and had a strong testimony of love for his family and others.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Marguerite, his sister Joanne, and brother Paul. His wife Agnes, daughter Teresa and son Willie.
He is survived by his children, Evelyn Simons, Elizabeth Wilhelm (Gary), Steven Meurer, Beverly Grass (Tom). His grandchildren Chuck Simons, Nicole Irwin, Christopher Sieckenius, Michael Sieckenius, Tye Wilhelm, Timothy Wilhelm, Toby Wilhelm, Jarrad Meurer, Mary Dieringer, Jason Williford, Michael Maxwell, and 15 great grandchildren.
He will truly be missed by his family, but we are so happy he is home with the Lord.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 5:00-7:00 P.M., on Thursday, the 1st of June 2017, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. that evening.
A funeral is scheduled for William Meurer at 10:00 A.M. on Friday the 2nd of June 2017 at Saint Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 120 West Oltorf Street, Austin, TX 78704. All are welcome to attend and celebrate William’s life.
