Betty Jo Franklin

Betty Jo (Becky) Franklin, age 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, November 8. Becky was the only child of Jack and Vera Linch; wife of CC Franklin, Jr; mother of Martha Rundell and Terry Franklin; grandmother of Natalie Tompkins and Neal Rundell; great grandmother of Rylie and Avery Rundell, and Klaire Tompkins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her daughter Terry.

Becky was a native Austinite, growing up in Hyde Park, and graduating from Austin High School where she could “jitterbug” in the gym before classes. She was a 30 year employee of the Texas Highway Department Right of Way Division as secretary of personnel and payroll. She loved her family, travel, the beach, Mexican food with a good margarita and most any dessert, especially something chocolate.

Becky was a 10 year resident of the Pointe at Cedar Park where she enjoyed many activities, including the van rides, the beauty shop, Happy Hour, music with friends, and the food, “because we have choices!” The family extends heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to her second family, the Pointe caregivers and staff, and later including the staff of Resolutions Hospice of Cedar Park.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
