She is survived by her brothers Ray Glenn, Harold Wayne, and William Terry Bailey and their wives; her brother Joe Richard Reid; her son Alfred Lynn Earhart; her daughter, Roxanne Hicks and her son-in-law, Jerry Hicks; her grandchildren Brian, Lara and Stephen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Thomas Glen Bailey and her sister, Wanda Lea Holliday.
She was born on March 20, 1930, in Little River County, AR. to Raymond Ray Bailey and Jewell Kathleen King Bailey Reid. She grew up in Texarkana, TX. where she graduated from Texas High School. She moved with her husband, William F. Earhart, to Kentucky, but later returned to Texarkana. While in Texarkana she worked and then retired from Kerr McGee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked with the deaf ministry as a certified sign language interrupter. She was involved with her Church’s mission work and made a trip to Guatemala as well as making a trip to the Holy Land. While in Texarkana she also earned her associate degree from Texarkana Community College.
In 2003, she left Texarkana and moved to Austin to be near her daughter and her family. She was a member of the Great Hills Baptist Church and the Joy Class for senior women. She maintained an independent life until her death by natural causes.
