Beth Schultz Dardnne Beth Dardnne passed away Thursday evening, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beth is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jim Dardnne, her two treasured sons, Mike and Scott Dardnne, her parents, Fred and Billie Schultz, her sister, Sally Bledsoe and husband Johnny, and best friend Kristen Feeley. Beth was born November 12, 1953 in Abilene, Texas. Beths family moved to Waco, Texas when she was twelve. Beth attended Waco public schools and graduated from Richfield High School with honors in 1972. She graduated from University of Texas in Austin in 1976 cum laude, with a BBA in marketing. Beth was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, with which she maintained a lifetime affiliation. She was a true burnt-orange blooded longhorn for life. Upon graduation from UT, Beth began work with A. S. Hansen, an actuarial firm in Houston, Texas. In 1979 Beth married and moved back to Austin, and began work with the employee benefits section of Austin National Bank, now Bank of America. In 1984, with the birth of her first child, Beth began a career as a full time mother, home-maker, and volunteer. She was completely devoted to her family. Beth worked tirelessly and joyfully for the schools and activities involving her children. Among the recognition she received was volunteer of the year twice at Hill Elementary, elected to the Hill Elementary Campus Leadership team for 5 years, and served as PTA officer at Hill, Murchison Middle School, and Anderson High School. Along with a love of sports, especially football and baseball, and a late blooming love of lacrosse, Beth also enjoyed weekends on the lake boating and water-skiing, with friends and family. Ask anyone who knew her and they would agree that Beth was outgoing, friendly, very determined, and was never afraid to speak her mind. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2007 at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, 7050 Village Center Dr., Austin. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to cancer research/treatment/prevention, Austin public schools, or the charity of your choice. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com
