Bea Tyler was born on December 24, 1924 in McDade, Texas and passed peacefully from this life from congestive heart failure on November 2, 2013. She is survived by her husband, W.H. “Bill” Tyler, daughter Deborah Tyler Patton, daughter Connie Tyler Johnson and her husband Mike, grandchildren, Jennifer Hodges and Lisa Aragon and her husband Gabe, and great grandchildren, Kaiden Cassano and Joshua Kennedy.
Bea spend many years helping her husband Bill start and build a local company here in Austin, General Office Equipment, which they sold in the 1970’s. Bea and Bill were able to travel the world, going to Japan and Europe along with visiting most of the United States. They enjoyed traveling to a number of locations in a motorhome which Bea herself drove on occasions. Bea always said her middle name should have been “GO” because she was ready to go someplace at the drop of a hat. Bea and Bill resided for over 30 years in a home located on the Balcones Country Club golf course and enjoyed many years of active participation in the club. Bea was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing all kinds of card games. Bea was proud of her service as a volunteer at Seton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 7th at the Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home located on Anderson Mill Road with burial to follow at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery located in Pflugerville. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, November 6th from 5-7 PM at the Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home on Anderson Mill Road.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during the last two years of Bea’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Odyssey Hospice of Austin.
