Barbara Speer

Barbara Ann (Roscher) Speer passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024. She is survived by her husband Clay Speer, son Jim Adcock and his wife Ellen, son John Adcock, step-son Carl Speer and his wife Lisa, grandchildren Noah Adcock, Emilia Adcock and Lea Speer, sister-in-law Sara Roscher, and nephews Adam, Sean, Stephen, Michael, and Christian. Barbara was predeceased by her brother John Roscher and his late wife Susan. Born and raised in Austin, where she resided most of her life, Barbara graduated from Austin High and the University of Texas as a member of Alpha Delta Gamma. An accomplished pianist and organist, she played in many venues, performing in her first city-wide solo recital at 9 years of age. Barbara was a music teacher before becoming a top real estate broker in Austin. A memorial service will be held 11 am, Saturday June 29th at Covenant United Methodist Church located at 4410 Duvall Rd in Austin. In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate donations to GroundWork Music Project, a charity which provides free and low cost music lessons to young children regardless of means. groundworkmusic.org
